EMDR

“Don’t turn away. Keep your gaze on the bandaged place. That’s where the light enters you.”

Rumi

We repeat what we don’t repair. Together let’s get to the root of what led you here and forge a new path back to yourself.

Difficult lived experiences can alter our sense of self and how we move through the world and experience others. Trauma work, and specifically EMDR, offer a reclamation of our stories, our sense of self and our agency, allowing for greater ease and presence.

In a culture steeped in the brutality of racism, sexism, ableism, and patriarchy, maintaining proximity to our true self is a form of rebellion. This tender and courageous work is not just an act of self love, but can help end intergenerational trauma, leading to greater collective healing.

What is EMDR?

EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is one of the most effective and powerful modalities in processing traumatic or distressing lived experiences. When processing these memories, we utilize bilateral stimulation of the eyes, similar to REM sleep (which helps us consolidate memories).  Prior to processing, preparation takes place to establish ones capacity for self regulation, mindfulness and curiosity.
